WASP Alarm Communication Gateways are installed adjacent CCTV cameras in areas identified as hotspots for cycle crime. This creates a wide area network (WAN) of wireless electronic radio-fences.

Designated cycle parking (racks & stands) are identified with signage indicating they are Protected WASP Safety Zones and numbered for identification.

Owners secure their bicycles in a safety zone using a WASP branded movement sensor and lock, (which comes with an £800.00 guarantee).

A text message is sent to log the bicycle in and out of the automated system.

If someone tries to tamper with your bicycle whilst logged into the system, the WASP movement sensor emits a silent alarm, triggering CCTV cameras which zoom in and records the event, simultaneously transmitting the alarm event/images to a security control room, owner’s mobile phone and email ad- dresses for verification.

Officers and users can then respond and the recorded images used as evidence for a successful prosecution.
