Green Portsmouth

We are determined to create a low-carbon future that will inspire and motivate staff and students to work and study here. The pathway to a low–carbon future presents us with challenges and undoubtedly some of our daily routines will have to change. But this is positive change and I urge everyone to make their contribution.

We have a target to reduce our carbon emissions by 30% by 2016. This is our contribution to higher education, national and international efforts to mitigate against the impacts of climate change.

Through the Green Building Challenge we will not only contribute to our carbon reduction target but will reduce our spending on energy as a result.
