Rail and Bus

If you're a member of staff you can get a discounted rate on your annual bus pass - just complete the First bus ticket application form and return as instructed.  Payments will be taken from your salary monthly.

Walking and Cycling 

Cycling is easier than ever in Portsmouth – there are no hills and there are over 900 cycle racks around the University available all hours. For improved bike security new CCTV linked bicycle locks covering the area around King Henry and Richmond buildings can be purchased from Security Lodge, ext. 3410.

Ever wondered which is the quickest or the quietest way to cycle somewhere?  Bike Hub works it out for you, lets you know how many calories you'll burn, and also how much carbon you'll save by taking your bike.

Portsmouth City Council walking and cycling maps can help you find your way around, and the council also offer cycle training and low (or cost) priced cycle products.

Master your cycling skills with subsidised cycle training

Pay £5 instead of £40 for a 1-to-1, 2 hour session.  For people who want learn to ride a bike, refreshers for those who haven’t been on their bike in a while, or for those who just want to improve their existing skills and safety.  Email Greenportsmouth@port.ac.uk for more information.

Free bike check and repairs

Dr Bike drop-in sessions help get your bike back into shape in Guildhall square, Thursdays 11:00 - 14:00 from April 2013.  Just bring along your bike and minor repairs will be fixed FREE OF CHARGE!  If your bike needs anything else you’ll be told what the problem is, roughly how much it would cost to fix and where to go in the city to get it done.
