Fire Log Books

Each University building has a Fire Log Book, which is kept in a locked red cabinet, sited at the main entrance to the building, as close to the fire panel as possible. Keys are held by Caretakers and relevant Estates staff.

Fire Log Books have been prepared to assist duty holders, managers and other responsible persons to co-ordinate and maintain a fire safety record keeping system. Whilst they are not comprehensive they seek to cover the main requirements for demonstrating compliance with current fire safety legislation.

The Fire Log Books should be kept up to date and readily accessible for inspection by the Fire Authority at any time. Their contents are:

  • Useful Telephone Contacts – Fire Liaison Officer and Fire Marshals
  • Fire Liaison Officer and Fire Marshals
  • Visits by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Officer

  • List of Call Points
