Recruitment and Selection Training
The Recruitment and Selection training will now be delivered in a modular style, allowing staff involved in the interview process to access the required modules in a timely manner.
'Trained Interviewer’ status is achieved once the pre programme e-Learning packages and modules 1, 3, 5 and 6 have been completed.

Module 2: Recruitment and Selection: Advertising and Marketing the Role
Managers responsible for writing the advert copy and staff responsible for completing the Advertising Request Form.
This session covers the forms and paperwork needed to advertise a vacancy. It gives advice on probable timelines and costs for various media. It also provides advice and support on how to create an advert, appropriate language to use and the type of media to advertise in.
The aims of the workshops are to:
- Provide a clear understanding of the paperwork required to advertise a position at the University
- Give practical advice on how to create an advert using appropriate language
By the end of this module participants will:
- Be able to create an advert for their vacancy
- Understand the processes required to advertise vacancies at the University of Portsmouth
