Initial and Continuing Professional Development Policy

The Initial Continuing Professional Development (ICPD) Policy outlines:

  • The purpose and importance of Continuing and Professional Development
  • Entitlements and responsibilities for Continuing and Professional Development
  • Identification of professional development needs and professional development planning
  • Criteria for success including monitoring and evaluation of learning and development

The ICPD Policy recognises continuing professional development (CPD) in the widest sense, to include mentoring, self-directed learning, experiential learning, job shadowing, exchanges and conferences in addition to scholarship and course-based learning.
