Target Audience
All staff with an interest in exploring Creative Thinking and Problem Solving
Outline
This module focuses on increasing levels of personal awareness and understanding of colleagues in the context of attitudes to innovation and creativity. A thought-provoking workshop that is designed to encourage fresh approaches to problem solving and to get participants to ?think about how they think.?
The following areas will be explored:
- Different Creative Styles
- Structure Versus Spontaneity
- Logical and intuitive thinking
- Team Roles
- Practical application
The aims of the workshop are:
- To explain how the creative process works, and describe what helps and hinders creativity.
- To explore how the diversity in teams can enhance creativity.
- To provide some useful tools and techniques that can help structure the creative process.
Learning Outcomes:
- Know the barriers to creative thinking and how to eliminate those thinking patterns
- Be able to tap in to the resource of people they work with to increase creativity
- Be confident in the use of certain tools and techniques to facilitate creativity and problem solving
Pre-event Preparation
Completion of the Belbin Team Roles questionnaire prior to the event

Mike Ketcher, Fusion Solutions
Mike Ketcher started Fusion in 1990 after managing a residential training centre in Anglesey for ten years. Mike has developed training events for organisations ranging from a multi-cultural event for the senior executives worldwide in Thomas Cook to teambuilding for Sussex County Cricket Club! Mike's approach is to use practical, hands-on experiential learning techniques to facilitate development and help teams and individuals tap into their hidden potential. He has run workshops on managing change, creativity and innovation for Microsoft, Powergen, Bae Systems and Volvo; also team and leadership development at Warwick and Aston Business Schools
