Effective Time Management
Target Audience
All staff with an interest in improving their time management and planning skills.
Outline
Everyone has their own unique way of working, including unique strengths and weaknesses; helpful and also unhelpful ways of doing things. This workshop provides an opportunity to become more aware of what you do well and what you do that is less helpful in your management of time. This analysis should in turn help you concentrate on and further develop the strengths whilst aiding to minimise the weaknesses.
The aims of the workshop are:
- to reflect on your own style of working and the impact of this on you/others
- to analyse how you spend your time at present and to identify what is helpful/unhelpful to your management of time
- to recognise the impact that others have on you and how that affects your time management (i.e. identifying how much time 'you' control and how much 'others' control) to become aware of techniques for making better use of the time you control
-
to learn ways of handling interruptions and dealing with 'time-stealers'.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Have a clearer understanding of your preferred style of working
- Have a clearer understanding of the important activities you should be spending time on
- Have become aware of a range of time management tips and techniques that can fit in with your personal style of working
