The University Budget and its Practical Impact
Target Audience
Any member of staff who is involved with financial management and administration, and/or has an interest in the University's finance.
Outline
To discuss the University internal budget methodology and related financial processes in the context of the current economic environment.
The aims of the workshop are:
- to develop understanding and knowledge of how the University sets and monitors its budget
- to encourage attendees to think about how the budget affects their own Department
- to explore current economic issues and how they impact on the University
Learning Outcomes:
Enhanced knowledge of:
- the annual cycle of budget setting, financial monitoring and final accounts
- Internal approvals for staffing
- Current issues in HE Finance
