The aims of the workshop are to:

  • Provide participants with a clear understanding of the 4 main types of behaviour, including the thought processes and body language that characterise them;
  • Provide an opportunity for participants to review the way that they interact with others with a view to increasing their use of assertive behaviour;
  • Increase participants' self-esteem and confidence to communicate effectively with others.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Have identified the types of situations in which they would like to be more assertive and the barriers they may need to overcome in order to do so;
  • Have planned strategies for dealing with those situations more successfully.

Format

Activities will include individual reflection and small group work, together with some structured input from the Workshop Leader. However, the success of the event also depends on the willingness of course members to participate openly.
