Introduction
Since December 2008 a project team of academic and support staff from across the campus reviewed the old appraisal process. The team looked at what was working and what wasn't at the University of Portsmouth, via internal consultation and reviews of best practice, with the aim of creating a more effective system for reviewing performance and personal development for all University staff.
The review team has drawn upon all the research carried out since December 2008 to produce a policy on the way forward for a single and flexible appraisal scheme for all staff. Performance and Development Review (PDR) is being rolled out to the University from July 2010.
