The way we work
The University of Portsmouth expects managers and staff to complete certain Core Training - ideally during the probationary period. Some elements are provided through e-learning and others through workshops.
The Performance and Development Review (PDR) process and developing team members
We all benefit from taking time out to think about how our work is going and what we are trying to achieve. The Performance and Development Review (PDR) process offers a chance to discuss your own thoughts and hear another perspective on your contribution to the department and University. Professional, honest conversations enable us to celebrate successes and discuss problems.
University of Portsmouth Staff Mentoring Scheme
Mentoring is a supportive opportunity to aid staff in identifying and achieving career goals. It supports the development of a culture of equality and diversity and contributes to our Athena SWAN and HR Excellence in Research award commitment. The University Staff Mentoring Scheme is available for all staff.
