The purpose of Recognition Awards is to recognise and award individuals and teams who have excelled in their performance by provision of a one-off cash sum which is paid within the employee’s salary payment. Click to download the Guidance and form for completion.
Long Service Awards
The University recognises and rewards staff who have completed 25 and 40 years continuous service with the University. The award consists of three parts:
- A contribution by the University towards a gift of the individual’s choosing;
- An invitation for the individual and a guest to attend a reception and buffet lunch;
- A certificate recognising the long service presented by the Vice-Chancellor at the reception.
Shortly before the date on which 25 or 40 years service is completed, a letter is sent from Human Resources notifying the individual of the details of the award.
Continuous service includes service with Portsmouth Polytechnic and members of staff who transferred from Portsmouth College of Art, Design and Media and The Solent School of Nursing, with no break in service.
