Smoking Cessation Assistance – committed to quitting smoking this year?
You may well have seen the hard hitting advertising campaign on the television over the past few weeks regarding the dangers of smoking and the mutations each batch of 15 cigarettes can cause http://www.dh.gov.uk/health/2012/12/smoking-health-harm/ http://smokefree.nhs.uk/advice-and-information/behind-the-campaign/ Perhaps this has been the catalyst to your decision to give up smoking this year.
The Occupational Health Service has arranged with Pompey Quit, the local NHS stop smoking service to provide smoking cessation advice on campus in the form of a weekly drop in session. Sessions will be on Tuesday lunchtimes from 12-1 o’clock beginning on Tuesday26th February. They will be held in Occupational Health, 3rd floor, Nuffield Centre. There is no need to book an appointment, just come along and speak to a specialist Advisor who will be able to offer advice and support on kicking the habit, guidance on up to date information around the many issues to do with smoking and trying to quit, for example treatment options, staying quit, top tips and how to support others. Pompey Quit are also able to provide smoking cessation treatments such as patches, so a visit to your GP may not be necessary.
