What do I need to do?
1) Complete offer letter and the ‘new starter pack’
It is the responsibility of the Trained Interviewer (TI) to ensure that the e-recruitment system is updated with the details of the both the successful and unsuccessful candidates, as this triggers a workflow for the HR Recruitment team to send out offer and 'regret after interview' letters. Please read Guidance on completing the offer letter.
2) Prepare appropriate resources
The webpage Organising a computer account for a new member of staff also allows you to request telephone options, Electronic Document Management (EDM) access and a University card
3) Prepare the candidate’s induction programme
The University asks line managers (or their nominated representatives) to complete a Staff Induction and Initial Training Plan with all new members of staff.
What else do I need to know?
Employing sponsored staff
All managers need to follow the Right to Work checks. Information and guidance is also available for those managers who employ, or are likely to employ Tier 4 sponsored students, this includes Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research students.
Visas and immigration
