The web and emarketing
The University website at www.port.ac.uk is designed as a site for the University's external audiences, including potential students, business and industry, the research community, media, the local community, schools and colleges and external agencies such as QA.
One of the sites primary purposes is to enable potential students to find out about our courses. After that, we want to enable all audiences to easily find information that is relevant to them.
The website is centrally managed by the Webteam, who are ultimately responsible for the design, structure, navigation and content. Responsibility for department level pages is devolved to those departments who want to manage their content within the Content Management System (CMS) and in line with corporate guidelines and Web Protocols. We offer training and support to any staff who would like to use the CMS to update their pages.
The Webteam provides the online element to integrated marketing campaigns carried out by the Marketing and Communications Department, and can assist other departments or schools in promoting their activities. We can advise on best structure and content of your pages and work with external agencies to produce promotional online campaigns and advertising.

Websites designer to appeal to our internal audiences of staff and students, for example Staff Essentials, LookUP and many of the student support services, are managed by the Internal Communications team. Please contact them if you have any questions regarding internal websites.
