Profile
Together with the rest of the Education Liaison and Outreach team, I am responsible for strengthening the relationships we have with schools and colleges. I work mostly with post-16 institutions and spend a lot of time 'on the road' attending HE Fairs and delivering talks to potential University of Portsmouth students across the country.
My role includes responsibility for coordinating our recruitment strategy and induction programme for Channel Islands students, as well as managing the annual Information Day we hold for post-16 careers advisors. I also support Paul Hughes with the running of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight UCAS Fair and colleagues from other departments who are looking to build upon links with local providers.
I moved to Education Liaison and Outreach from the Marketing Campaigns team, where I worked on Preview Days, advertising and relationship building with applicants.
My background before working at the University is in language teaching, particularly teaching English as a foreign language, and this experience has been invaluable in helping me to understand the view points of both potential students and academic staff.
