Marketing and Communications

Suzy’s role at the University is Education Liaison and Outreach Officer for the University’s UP for It Juniors Scheme.  The team work with local Primary Schools to raise aspirations and breakdown stereotypes about University and Higher Education. They work closely with student ambassadors to run a variety of fun and interactive sessions, both in school and at the University. 

 

Suzy went to Leeds Trinity and All Saints University and gained a BA Hons in Primary Education with PE, Health & Leisure (with QTS). She loved her university experience and it taught her many valuable life skills. This is something the team demonstrate to children they work with, and they aim to ensure children see Further and Higher Education as both an accessible and exciting opportunity. 

 

Prior to working at the University, Suzy spent many years working in Primary schools, both as a supply teacher and in permanent posts. She also spent a year teaching in Japan, as well as undertaking in a number of office jobs.  Along with her CIM Diploma in Marketing, these experiences have given her a great understanding of our Education system and into the varying aspirations and motivations for young children. 

 

Suzy is really passionate about her work with UP for It juniors and enjoys being able to make a difference, by inspiring young children.
