Profile
I work within Marketing Services with a team of eight staff actively promoting the University of Portsmouth to ensure strong student recruitment across the board. Undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment are within my remit, and our work deals in the front line services which means the University is first and foremost in the mind of our prospective students. We deal with all advertising for the University, all direct marketing campaigns including our successful relationship building campaign with applicants and the University Preview Day organisation.
I work with our Postgraduate Marketing Coordinator on PG recruitment and manage staff within our Information Centre. We also deal with corporate gifts and merchandising options. My team also takes a leading role in the promotion of the services on offer at Purple Door, including Purple Door Careers and Recruitment, the Information Centre, RKTS and Set UP for Life. The breadth of work covered by Marketing Campaigns means that we work closely with all areas of the marketing department and have forged close links with staff across the University.
My background is originally as a local newspaper journalist, before moving into marketing. I have worked in both public and private sector marketing roles, including tourism and telecommunications as well as further and higher education. I have worked at the University since 2001, developing my role and team over that time.
