Profile
I am the Post 16 Manager: Education Liaison and Outreach Team and I am responsible for a wide range of projects, schemes and government funded initiatives. My roles, responsibilities and areas of expertise reflect this large portfolio.
The main areas of work include managing the Aimhigher team here at the University and being the lead for Aimhigher Hampshire and IOW Action programme 2 which deals with all the off-campus aspiration raising activities across Hampshire and the IOW. I also oversee the school-based mentoring schemes which are currently run in the local area.
I am the representative from Aimhigher Hants and IOW on the Aimhigher south east mentoring group, working as part of the Summer school delivery team. I oversee a number of subject based aspiration and attainment raising projects such as those in maths and languages.
I am currently heading up the equality schemes action plans and equality impact assessments for the marketing department. Through my work I have links with many external agencies and networks including Action on access, local authorities, widening participation networks, community groups and other HEIs.
Having worked in the higher education sector for over nine years, I have a number of areas of expertise and experience of the following areas - student development, student employability and careers, student support and welfare, QAA audits, personal development plans, university induction programmes, summer schools, mentoring schemes both with in schools, colleges and within universities.
I enjoy my job and enjoy the many challenges that working with such a range of projects poses.
