Marketing and Communications

As an Education Liaison and Outreach Officer Amanda’s role is to co-ordinate and deliver activities that motivate and inspire young people about University.  Working within the 11-16 team, she is responsible for planning and delivering a variety of exciting activities, both on and off campus, to pupils in schools across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.  

 

To achieve this, Amanda works closely with a team of University student ambassadors, who contribute their personal experiences of University to the sessions, helping to bring them to life and addressing many of the issues young people face when planning their future.

 

Amanda’s other responsibilities includes raising the profile of Technology and Engineering, as part of wider agendas to encourage young people to study STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) at University and beyond.  She is also responsible for the review and development of bespoke projects. 

 

Before working at the University, Amanda worked for several years in further education, undertaking various roles including copywriting, web design and public relations. Prior to this she worked as a Marketing Assistant for American brand Sally Hansen Nails.  Amanda has a degree in Marketing and Design.
