Profile
Paul has been employed at the University of Portsmouth since 2002. Most of this time has been spent working in Education Liaison and Outreach primarily working with post-16 institutions and their students. Since 2007 Paul has been employed part-time by the University. He takes great pride in being in a position to encourage young people to raise their aspirations and ensure that they believe that HE is accessible to them.
Paul’s main responsibilities are the organisation of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight UCAS Convention, maintaining links with our local providers of applicants, delivering talks and workshops to young people and representing the University at various UCAS and college fairs across the country. He has previously organised and delivered externally funded summer schools as well as Aimhigher funded mentoring programmes.
At present Paul oversees a mentoring project with Portsmouth College giving our current students the opportunity to support young people at a local, major FE provider. Paul also has responsibility for supporting our Faculty of Technology with their programme of outreach work as well as co-organising the Faculties’ annual conference.
