The Annual Fund (.pdf) brings alumni and friends of the University together through their shared interest in the future of Higher Education in Portsmouth. It allows you to make a real difference to our current and future students.
The Annual Fund supports four key areas of University life...
Student Support and Hardship
Funds in this area will be used to provide support for those students who lack sufficient finances to be able to make the most of their time at Portsmouth. This may include help with course resources, grants for living expenses or additional support for postgraduate students.
Gifts in this area are used for a variety of different projects that are all valuable in enhancing the students' learning experience. This could range from new facilities that offer real-life learning, using the developments in technology to enable new and effective teaching methods or funding for field trips that ensure our students broaden their horizons, helping them achieve academic success.
Our focus on real work skills ensures our graduates stand out when applying for jobs and paves the way for their success after they leave University. One example of where your support could help in this area is through the provision of grants for student project work or student placements, helping our students to gain the right skills and experience and enhancing their employability.
The Vice-Chancellor's Strategic Fund
Donations in this area will be allocated by the Vice-Chancellor to the area where the need is greatest. Your gift will allow the University to react to challenges as and when they arise. This will have a real and immediate impact on the work we are doing and allow us to develop those areas of the Annual Fund that will offer the most additional benefit to our students.
