Academic Skills Unit

For staff

The Academic Skills Unit offers support to staff as well as students. These are ways that ASK lecturers can help you.

Tutorials: through expert one-to-one tuition for self-referring students.

Consultation: through formal or informal consultation, providing expert academic skills input for learning and teaching issues, such as assessment and feedback.

Workshops: through partnership with you, by designing and delivering workshops to develop your students' writing, thinking or presentation skills.

Research: by participating in the design, execution and dissemination of joint, small-scale action research projects that aim to improve your students' learning.

Resources: through suggesting, supplying and advising on the effective integration of traditional and e-learning resources, enabling your students to develop their academic skills.

Staff Pages provides a repository of reusable learning objects (RLOs) that can be added to Victory courses. It offers a range of resources from Skills@Portsmouth, the ASK website and selected external sites. Staff Pages is available for all staff, within Victory. The home page includes instructions for adding items to your course, along with Preview and Review options. Alternatively, watch the following Captivate movie.
