Library
The University Library is an extremely important building in terms of what it can offer to students through its books, journals, collections, databases and IT facilities and also the staff who work there. You should make yourself familiar with the Library and your Subject Librarian as soon as possible. Don't leave it until the last year of your course! If you are not sure where to start looking for resources for your subject, we recommend selecting My Subject from the bar menu above the Search menu in the Home Page. You should find a link for your area in the A-Z menu.
Maths Café
The Maths Café is open to any student of the University who requires support with mathematical and statistical problems. The Café is supported by the Maths Centre and the staff are professional, friendly and able to give 1-1 support time.
Student Advice Services
These include: Counselling, Careers and Employment Service, Chaplaincy, Disability Advice Centre, Student Finance and Student Housing (as well as the Academic Skills Unit!). All of these Services except Careers are co-located in the Nuffield Centre alongside other important services such as the International Office. The Careers and Employment Service is now located within Purple Door.
If you feel that you may have a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia, or any other disability that may affect your studies or your access to them, you should contact the University's Additional Support and Disability Advice Centre to arrange an appointment with one of their Disability Coordinators.
