Where will I live?
If you take a look at the map of Portsmouth and Southsea, you'll see that our Halls of Residence are in two main areas.
The main Guildhall Campus is situated on the west side of the city, close to the City Centre. Guildhall Campus is home to Bateson Hall, Harry Law Hall, Trafalgar Hall, James Watson Hall and Margaret Rule Hall. These halls are very close to the teaching buildings, the main train station, and the main shopping centre. If you like to live in the bustle of a city centre, Guildhall Campus is ideal.
To the east of Portsmouth you will find Langstone Student Village, home to QEQM Hall, Trust Hall and Langstone Flats. Langstone is a quieter area surrounded by the University sports fields and the picturesque waterside of Langstone Harbour. Langstone Student Village has its own refectory. The University operates a free bus service between Langstone Student Village and the Guildhall Campus during term time, between 0730 and Midnight.
There are two halls of residence in Southsea - Rees Hall and Burrell House. These are our catered halls (meals provided). Southsea is Portsmouth's seaside resort, with four miles of coastline flanked by open spaces, parks and gardens. Southsea's shopping area incorporates a mix of well known chain stores, quirky specialist shops and multicultural supermarkets. Bars and restaurants are plentiful as well as clubs, live music venues, theatre and museums. Rees Hall and Burrell House are a 10 minute walk from the Guildhall Campus.
Most private rented accommodation is in Southsea, within 2 miles of the University. Another popular area for private accommodation is Fratton, which has its own train station. The University free bus service runs through Fratton so you will have easy access to Guildhall Campus.
