How to apply

There are three different ways to apply.  You can register your details by completing our online application form, or apply through UCAS,  or apply through our in-country representative, Glory Educational Services.

If you are being referred to apply to the University of Portsmouth by a current student or alumni, please ensure that a copy of the International Alumni Referral Award form is completed and submitted along with your application (see section below).

For visa reasons, we have in-country representation in Nigeria who can ensure that students receive professional visa assistance.  It is recommended that you take advantage of Glory's expertise (contact details below).

International Alumni Referral Awards

We know that the best promotion is 'word of mouth'. We also know that if students have a good experience at Portsmouth, they will tell their friends, family and colleagues - and sometimes, as a result, one of those people decides to come and study at the University of Portsmouth. We want to formally recognise this assistance in recommending that person to the University of Portsmouth.

The International  Alumni Referral Award (IARA) scheme is for current and former University of Portsmouth students who refer an applicant to study here.  We reward the current/former student with £400 if their application results in a registration.

How does the scheme work?

Please use the following application forms and send them to the International Office.

Please download and complete the International Alumni Referral Award Form above. You must ensure that the International Alumni Referral Award Form is attached to the application when it is sent to the International Office. If you are submitting an online application, please select IARA from the agent drop-down menu and attach a copy of the completed IARA Form.

Please note: we cannot link the application to you after we have received the application and it has been input into the University's Admissions System

Our representatives

Due to the high rate of visa refusals and documentation issues, we do not accept direct applications (including applications for distance learning courses).  All applicants in Nigeria should apply through UCAS (for undergraduate applications - www.ucas.ac.uk) or through our representative, Mr Theo Oladimeji. Theo is a University of Portsmouth graduate and will be happy to assist you in your application. For further information, please contact Theo and his staff at:
