Accommodation advice

University accommodation

If you have booked a place in University halls of residence, you may be able to move in before the date of your contract (please check with Student Housing).

If you are arriving before this date, you will need to book a local hotel or guest house for your arrival.  Please go to the Portsmouth Visitor Information Office website and make sure you book well in advance.

Please note that parents, relatives and friends cannot stay in University accommodation, and should book hotel or guest house accommodation in advance. The International Office and the Student Housing Office are not able to book accommodation for parents, relatives or friends.

Free bedding packs will be provided on arrival to all new international (non-EU) students allocated a place in our halls of residence ONLY.  These packs contain one sheet, one pillow and pillowcase, one single duvet and duvet cover .

For advice on purchasing other essentials for your room, and for students not eligible for a bedding pack, please visit our essential shopping page for more information.
