Visa advice for students already in the UK

It is important that your student visa indicates that you are linked to the University of Portsmouth.  We will be unable to register you for your course if you do not have the correct student visa.  However, we are aware that some students who have undertaken a course at another UK institution immediately prior to starting their course of study at Portsmouth (for example, a degree course at another university, or a pre-sessional English course) may be experiencing delays with their UKBA visa application.  If you are affected by this, we will be able to register you on your course at Portsmouth as long as you can provide the following documentation:

• Copy of your passport
• Copy of your existing Student Visa
• Evidence from UKBA that your visa application has been received and is being processed (i.e. a receipt letter from UKBA) - or - evidence of funds collected by UKBA for your visa application (i.e. a credit card statement or bank statement)
