Testimonials

'The course was just what I needed to really think seriously about my fitness and healthy eating. It was varied in covering different types of classes that made a great introduction to a wide range of new activities. The sessions were testing but  always appropriately paced and the fixed day each week made it easy to keep in the diary. The class teachers were terrific:  knowledgeable, motivating and engaged with everyone so it felt like you were working as part of a team. It was great meeting new people of all abilities from around the university and I have made new friends as a result!'
Esther Sonnet, Head of School, Creative Arts Film & Media. LEAN January 2012.

'Really enjoyed the course again – great variety in the exercise available and the team really push you to do your best.   Lost almost a stone and my fitness levels have improved tremendously so I am very happy!'
Michelle Juchau, Course Leader (H&S) Learning at work. LEAN January 2012.

'An enjoyable way of pushing yourself to do more, try more classes and stay focussed on specific weight-loss targets or fitness goals.  It’s good for making you try different forms of exercise you wouldn’t normally think of trying. Exercising as a group is an excellent way to push yourself and good for motivation. Small groups mean you get to know each other and make new friends.'
Tracey Beck, Admissions Ofiicer. LEAN October 2011.

'I had two aims when I joined the course. Firstly, not to lose weight but to get into the habit of doing exercise on a regular basis. The second aim was to give up smoking, I gave up on the last day of the course and have now been 3 weeks smoke free. By the end of the course I feel fitter, happier with my body and best of all, I now miss exercise if I cannot find the time to do it. I now have an annual membership at the gym with the staff deduction scheme.'
Beatriz Lopez, Senior Lecturer, Psychology. LEAN May 2011.
