Volunteering
UP for Sport
UP for Sport scheme sets up volunteer coaching opportunities so our staff and students can share their sporting skills.
We encourage our volunteers to undertake appropriate National Governing Body coaching and officiating awards, enabling all volunteers to gain formal qualifications.
Our dedicated website www.upforsport.co.uk is the one-stop-shop for volunteers, coaches, schoolchildren, teachers, local clubs, and partners. Please take a while to familiarise yourself with the site and have a look at the fantastic programmes we offer you.

Coach Education programme
The Coach Education programme is jointly coordinated by UP for Sport and the Department of Sport and Recreation. The Coach Education Programme is open to anyone with an interest in developing their sports coaching skills and knowledge. The programme offers a number of training opportunities to gain nationally recognised qualifications including sport specific National Governing Body awards, Sports Coach UK workshops and first aid training, all being held at the University of Portsmouth as a hub of coach development in the local area.
