Langstone Sports Site
The University's Langstone Sports Site offers a range of outdoor sports available to students and members of the public alike. We have recently refurbished our flood-lit Synthetic Turf Pitch (STP) and this, coupled with our newly installed spectator seating, makes Langstone a first-rate sporting facility. The STP is perfect for playing hockey, football and lacrosse all year round.
University of Portsmouth - £1 Million Facility Investment Langstone Sports Facilities –by September 2013 the following will all be available for hire to community and external groups:
- IRB & FIFA Certified full size Rugby and Football 3G Pitch (65mm)
- Cut in lines for full size Rugby, Football, Lacrosse & 7 a-side football
- Also suitable for American Football, Softball and Ultimate Frisbee
- Dividing nets to enable pitch to be split into thirds
- Large spectator weather protection canopy
- FIH Certified full size Sand Dressed hockey pitch (18mm)
- Full size hockey, 6 a-side football, full size Football, American
- Football and Lacrosse
- Dividing net to enable pitch to be split in half
- Large spectator weather protection canopy
- 2 County Standard Outdoor Netball courts
- Can be turned into a large 2 court size MUGA for Football and Basketball
- 2 fenced Astroturf 5 a-side pitches
- Fully drained, irrigated and levelled grass 1st XI Football pitch with permanent crowd
- Barrier and hard standing

- 2 grass Rugby pitches
- 4 grass Football pitches
- 2 small sided Football pitches
- Numerous grass training grids
- Large hard surfaced warm up area for hockey, 3G, 5 a-side and Netball courts

Availability
- Open till 10pm Monday – Fridays
- 33 weeks per year
- Open 9am – 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays for 33 weeks per year
- Reduced times in holidays and out of term
