Information for schools and colleges

Services offered by our Student Finance Centre

We work closely with schools and colleges to ensure students and parents have an understanding of the support available at university and are well-prepared financially. We offer the following presentations and workshops:

HE Funding presentation

This presentation explains the funding options available to UK undergraduate students. It can be delivered as part of a UCAS preparation event or parents’ evening.

Student Finance Application workshop

Students are usually able to apply for funding from January. This workshop guides students through the online application process. This works well as either a drop in session, or as a scheduled workshop.

Budget Game

This is an interactive workshop for students in years 9 - 11. It introduces the topic of budgeting and encourages participants to start thinking about the cost of university.

Maximum of 30 students per session.

Poundstretchers

This is an interactive workshop for students in years 12 and 13. Together students study and discuss a mock student bank statement - looking out for spending pitfalls, and examples of bad money management. The session also shows students how to create a budget.

Maximum of 20 students per session.
