Have you received a letter inviting you to join in the NUS survey of student finances? The University of Portsmouth is supporting this and would encourage any students who have been invited to take part if they can.

Whatever your course, or however you feel about your finances, we urge you to get involved and to have your say. The NUS want to hear about your experiences in dealing with the financial issues involved in studying. What are the financial costs of your course and what other living costs and expenses do you have to pay for? What sources of income do you have?  If you take part you could win £100!

This research, commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and carried out by a consortium of independent researchers, involves over 4,000 students at almost 100 universities and colleges across England and Wales. It is the main source of information that the Government uses to keep track of estimated student expenditure and debt.

The findings will influence Government decision making about student financial support and help ensure future students have the facts about the costs of study and the student finance available.
