Postgraduate research

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers postgraduate research degrees (PhD and MRes) within our respected research centres (Centre for European and International Studies ResearchCentre for Studies in LiteratureSchool of Education and Continuing Studies and Institute of Criminal Justice Studies) supported by the Graduate School. On these programmes, you will undertake your research alongside the requisite training and education to prepare you for future research and career endeavours.

We can offer supervision via staff in the following areas:

You will be supported by a supervisory team of up to three academics as you progress to assessment via a written thesis and a viva-voce examination. You will also be encouraged to attend, and submit work to, appropriate conferences.  Applications for bursaries are invited in each subject's priority areas.
