Welcoming over 120 staff, students and guests, our Institute Research Day 2017 brought together our network of researchers to showcase some of the highlights from the past year. The day began with updates and plans for the new organisation of IBBS and our expanding remit. The first session provided an overview of our research and innovation successes and aspirations and was closed with an engaging and supportive presentation from our Dean of Science, Professor Sherria Hoskins.
The second session saw an informative talk from our newly recruited bioinformatician, Dr Sam Robinson, and the rest of the day was dedicated to our postgraduates who presented a superb collection of first-class oral and poster presentations. With substantial contributions from our generous sponsors, we awarded a range of prizes to our research students.
A compilation video of the day and photo library are provided courtesy of Stefan Venter at UPIX Photography. Stefan will be joining us at the Institute to collect a wide range of media from all our research groups over the coming months.
