Biography

I have an undergraduate Law degree, a Master's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and both a Master's and PhD in Web Science. Previously I was employed at the University of Southampton as a Teaching Fellow in Criminology. I have also been a book reviewer for the journals: Information, Communication and Society and Sociology of Health and Illness, and a News Editor for Sociology Lens, the companion to the online review journal Sociology Compass from Wiley Blackwell.

My research is primarily in the area of cybercrime and criminology. It is interdisciplinary and also spans the fields of Sociology, Health Sciences and Digital Research Methods. Specific projects have looked at purchasing of medicine and drugs from the Web, the role of the Web in changing healthcare, online deviant and criminal behaviours, and issues surrounding Novel Psychoactive Substances and the Web. I have taken my research to the House of Commons and the Royal Society, and have presented my work at prestigious national and international conferences.
