Biography

Marc Jacobs has worked at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Portsmouth since 1998. He has a first degree in Law and a Masters in Criminal Justice.  His research and scholarly activities concern the historical development and nature of criminology and punishment, with particular interest in British radical/critical and sociological criminology during the late 20th century. In addition to the historical development of the discipline Marc's interests concern the contemporary nature and status of theoretical and critical criminology and the sociology of punishment in the new millennium.
