Scholarships are available to help you with the financial costs of going to university. To help widen access to our courses we've gathered together scholarships provided by the University, as well as other organisations, for which you may be eligible. University of Portsmouth is a member of the Santander Universities network. Four to six awards of £5,000 (and £2,500 for EU students) (funded by Santander) will be available to talented students starting a one year, full time Masters' degree at the University of Portsmouth in 2016. The scholarships, which will take the form of a fee waiver, will be awarded on academic merit. Eligible candidates, in receipt of an unconditional offer, will be invited to apply for the scholarship. Successful candidates may also be eligible to receive the GOAL/PassPort Bursary on the remainder of their tuition fees.
To be eligible, applicants must be domiciled in one of the countries within the Santander network: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Spain, USA, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The highly coveted Scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential. Awards are typically for a one-year Master’s degree, in any subject and at any of the UK’s leading universities. For more details visit www.chevening.org.
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission supports over 900 scholarships and fellowships for postgraduate study and professional development. Awards are funded by the Department for International Development, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Scottish Government, in conjunction with UK universities. University of Portsmouth School of Earth and Environmental Sciences Scholarships
A number of scholarships are available in our Faculty of Science for students from Nigeria and Ghana. They take the form of a 20% fee reduction for a selection of full-time postgraduate courses.
