Your University of Portsmouth experience

I like the fact that we have full student support outside our course modules. We get an opportunity to bridge any skills gap with the creative skills department to support our projects, from editing, scripting to lighting, camera and sound. This, coupled with the academic skills, prepares me to have a producer’s mind in the field which is key for any film maker who needs to get their film commissioned.

What makes Portsmouth unique?

It’s breath-taking. Often times when I need to relax, a single stroll down the beach is enough to kill off some stress from studies. Despite the winds, Portsmouth has amazing views and people. There is so much to see and it’s such a historical city.

Your extra-curricular activities

I am part of the Christian Union which meets every week. It brings together all Christians to meet and share in the love of Jesus. We get to meet international students from all over; the diversity is amazing. I just love interacting and sharing with them. The UPTV is another society I’m involved with. This year we aired our first live show, ‘Purple Wave’. The station is run by students – it’s a great opportunity to practise what we learn. I can’t wait to see where this will take us as we are a very diverse group of students united by one passion. The same goes for the film and photography society.
