Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence for the Study of a Transnational Europe

Mock EU Referendum

March 23, 2.30-4.30pm - Milldam building, Burnaby Road

Exactly 3 months before the EU Referendum, in which Britain will decide its future as a member of the European Union, CESTE held a mock referendum on the same question.

Before the vote, we held a debate, led by experts in the field, to help staff, students and residents learned more about the issues that could change the future of Britain forever.

  • General secretary of Labour Leave campaign, Brendan Chilton, and former lecturer in political economy and European studies, Dr Paul McVeigh will put the case for Britain leaving the EU.
  • Gerald Vernon-Jackson, former Leader of the City Council, and politics lecturer and Director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence for the Study of Transnational Europe, Mike Mannin, will put the case for Britain to stay in the EU.
