Infrastructure for Large Scale Residential Developments

The provision of a sound infrastructure system is perhaps the key to successful residential development. This is a view held by some of the country’s leading architects as well as many spatial planners. This course through the use of a very large and dynamic case study explores the many complex issues that have to be considered when managing schemes for residential development.

Using the £2bn Manydown Project as a case study this course considers:

  • the relationship between residential design and infrastructure needs
  • energy services
  • waste removal and drainage
  • transport and communication
  • public services
  • sustainable issues
  • cutting edge telecoms technology
  • provision of ‘internet of things’

Launce Morgan is a consultant to AECOM supporting Transport for London on the £3.5bn Earls Court joint venture with Capital and Counties. He also, in his role in LaSa Management, provides expert development and project/cost management services for various other clients. Launce has strong skills in Project Management, from funding, inception, design, planning through to construction handover, particularly with housing and hotel sectors.
