University Login
You need your University of Portsmouth (UoP) institutional login username and password to access most of the Library's electronic resources either on campus or more especially when off campus.
If you search on the Library web pages at: www.port.ac.uk/library and use the Library Catalogue or the other search options to access your resource, you may be taken directly to the University of Portsmouth login page.
If you use Google, Google Scholar or another general search engine, you may have to find the University of Portsmouth login page yourself.
Shibboleth/Institution/Federated route
Most resources now use this access route, login as follows:
- Locate the Shibboleth/Institutional/Academic login link and click on it.
- select Institutional login,
- Select UK Access Management Federation
- Select University of Portsmouth.
- Click on the link and you should be taken to the University of Portsmouth login page.
If you are having trouble finding the login link, the resource may require an 'individual password'
