Problem using Digimap Carto in Firefox
3rd April 2012 - On Monday, Mozilla added older versions of the Java Runtime Environment to their Firefox Blocklist http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2012/04/02/blocking-java/
This is affecting those who use Firefox to access EDINA Digimap http://edina.ac.uk/digimap/, which requires the JRE to run Digimap Carto.
Solution: If you are using your own PC, updating to the latest version of the JRE will solve the problem. If you are using PC's on campus, we suggest you use Google Chrome instead of Firefox until IS can provide an update to the JRE.
Changes to Accessing the Lexis Library
14th Oct. 2011 - Due to demand from 3rd year students who wish to use the very useful tools available under personalisation the IP access to Lexis has been disabled. You now need to follow the Shibboleth route to logging in by clicking on 'Academic Sign-in'
Problem: Not loading automatically on Campus
Solution: Follow Academic sign-in route
CSA Revamped as 'Proquest'
The CSA database service has been revamped as Proquest. Although slightly changed the Advanced Search still offers a good searching strategy.
Note that some databases have changed supplier so do remember to look for them using the databases option from the Library home page search panel.
