Human Resources - Suggested Databases

The following databases are suggested as good starting points for finding Human Resources materials. This list is not exhaustive, and you may find other databases more suited to your needs.

  • Business source complete
Good place to search for articles from Accountancy, Strategic Finance and other professional journals not found on Google Scholar as well as academic articles. Click on the peer-reviewed button if you only want academic articles.
  • Database of conditions of work and employment laws
    from the ILO(international Labour Organization)
  • Emerald fulltext

  • LABORDOC
from the ILO (International Labour Organization) –“references to a wide range of print and electronic publications, including journal articles, from countries around the world, on all aspects of work and sustainable livelihoods, and the work-related aspects of economic and social development and human rights”. Some full text.
  • PsycInfo
This is a psychology database, but could be useful if you are looking at issues in occupational psychology such as motivation, organizational commitment, job satisfaction or employee attitudes
  • Science direct
in spite of its name, this database has thousands of articles on business and management topics
  • XpertHR
This database is intended for practitioners so you will not find a lot of academic or theory content, but there is a huge amount of information on policy and good practice. Includes employment law information, line manager briefings, articles, case studies, etc.
