Languages and Area Studies - Suggested Databases

The following databases are suggested as good starting points for finding Languages and Area Studies materials. This list is not exhaustive, and you may find other databases more suited to your needs.

  • EBSCO
    covers lots of subject areas so often good for a quick starting point
  • JSTOR
    a journal archive containing thousands of articles relevant to SLAS students
  • Lingusitics and Language Behavior Abstracts
    the best place to find detailed articles and chapters for linguistics, language learning/teaching and translation

Subject Locations

Language books can be found on the Second Floor in the University Library in the 400s but books for different aspects of your course will be found in other parts of the Second Floor as well as the First Floor.
