http://www.pen.org/page.php/prmID/154 - The PEN translation site is lively and contains lots of literary resources. There is a downloadable Handbook which may be useful for prospective literary translators though it has a North American focus.

For students looking for examples of translated literature, the following e-journals offer a range of examples, sometimes with facing text.  Much of what is available on the web is translated poetry, for cultural reasons (prestige) as well as technical reasons (bandwidth).

 

The University of Iowa publishes an e-journal of literary translation entitled Xchanges. More information can be found at www.uiowa.edu/~xchanges.

 

The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville publishes Passport, a journal of translation; more information at http://uark.edu/~passport.

Modern Poetry in Translation, the most prestigious journal of its kind in Britain, founded by Ted Hughes and Daniel Weissbort, is now in its third series, edited by David and Helen Constantine.
