Join JBM

The Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Incorporated Engineers together represent some 100,000 of the world's leading professional engineers.

These four professional bodies have formed the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) to work and strengthen links with universities to ensure that educational programmes are in place to develop professional engineers that will continue to provide a global contribution to sustainable, economic growth and ethical standards. The JBM assesses and makes recommendations on the accreditation of relevant educational programmes that it will accept as meeting the requirement to register as a professional engineer with the Engineering Council (UK) - the body responsible for regulating the engineering profession within the UK.

The British Computer Society (BCS) is a professional body for those working in IT. It has over 65,000 members in more than 100 countries and are the qualifying body for Chartered IT Professionals (CITP). It is also an international awarding body for a wide range of qualifications for both users of IT and IT specialists.

The British Institute of Occupational Hygienists (BOHS) is a founding member of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) which provides an international voice for the occupational hygiene profession. It is also an integral member of the Professional Organisations in Occupational Safety and Health (POOSH) group, which works towards common aims through joint initiatives and mutual support.

The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is Europe's leading body for health and safety professionals. It has over 34,000 members worldwide, including 13,000 Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners.

The Institution was founded in 1945 and is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that sets professional standards, supports and develops members and provides authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety issues. IOSH is formally recognised by the ILO as an international non-governmental organisation.

The Lembaga Juruukur Bahan Malaysia (LJBM) or the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) is a statutory body, established by an Act of Parliament namely the Registration of Quantity Surveyors Act 1967 (also known as Quantity Surveyors Act 1967), responsible for:

  1. the registration of Quantity Surveyors and firms and bodies corporate practising as consulting Quantity Surveyors; and
  2. the regulation of the quantity surveying profession in Malaysia,

with the aim of safeguarding the interests of the public and the rights of registered Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveying practices.
