Wednesday 9th March - important news about your options for next year
At Options Day next Wednesday, you can find out some important things you should know about choosing your options for next year, from the Head of School. There is also a presentation on the final year project and a chance to meet your course leader.
Time and place: 1.30pm - 3.30pm, Lion Gate 2.4. Please attend if possible.
Details of the option choices are held in the Unit Bible. The information held in the Unit Bible can be subject to late changes.

Placement students: please contact cam-admin@port.ac.uk with your student ID and we will email you your form.
Every student is assigned a personal tutor. Your personal tutor should be your first port of call should you experience any problems during your time with us.
You can find out the name of your personal tutor by looking under the 'my course' tab on your student portal page.

Tutor Centre reopens on Monday 26th September 2011
The School of Computing Tutor Centre provides friendly, one-to-one, academic support for all students. If you need help understanding your assessments, or with a wide range of subjects (programming, networks, systems analysis, databases, web apps), if you want to talk to someone about your project or about any other academic issues (revision, referral, improving your marks), please come and see us. Appointments not necessary.
The Tutor Centre is in Lion Gate 0.04 (next to LG 0.7 lab). It is open from Monday to Friday, 12pm - 2pm.

Choosing options: There are a number of resources which are available to students to help with choosing options, whether you are an existing student at the University of Portsmouth or for home and overseas direct entry students who may need to chose their options before arrival in Portsmouth.
Unit Information: Unit information is held on the Unit Web Search. This resource is regularly updated and includes a brief unit summary and statement of learning outcomes as well as details of how the unit is assessed and an indicative reading list.
Final Year Projects: Final year students should refer to the Project Units Management System (PUMS). This site covers everything you need to know about the final year project units including amongst other things how to choose a project and write it up as well as project ideas and past examples of projects.
Year 1 Undergraduate , and direct entrants to Year 2 and Year 3: These will be handed out during your induction by your personal tutor. See your Freshers Pack for details on induction dates and locations.
Year 2/3 Undergraduate
These will be available via your Student portal, please check the Plasma Screen at Lion Gate Reception for the most up-to-date information.
Postgraduate
Postgraduate timetables are available from the student portal, a paper copy is on the PG noticeboards on the top floor of LionGate.
