The Option Form must be completed and signed by you and then returned to the CAM Office by Friday 10th February 2012.

2011-12 Induction and Registration Information
Your Induction timetable for returning to the University will be published on the web from 5th September 2011 at www.port.ac.uk/techinduction.
Your Induction programme has been designed to update and inform you for your forthcoming years study and it is very important that you attend all sessions.
During Induction Week there will be a dedicated session booked for you and your fellow students to register for your 2011-12 course session. Please make sure you attend at your timetabled slot as we will only be registering students in their designated sessions.
For information regarding the University's 2011-12 tuition fee payment terms, exclusions policy for non settlement of tuition fees, and to check the amount you need to pay for the Academic year 2011-12, please go to the tuition fee look-up facility at www.port.ac.uk/tuitionfees.
Should your circumstances change during the summer vacation, affecting your registration on the next year of your course, please inform us in writing as soon as possible.
Monitoring Attendance
The process for monitoring attendance begins from 26th September 2011. Every week you must sign the register displayed on the ground floor of Liongate Building, by the lift. Failure to sign the weekly register will result in your services being withdrawn, and if you do not prove satisfactory attendance, may lead to exclusion. If you are unable to sign within a given week, you must contact the CAM office immediately as you will not be able to sign retrospectively.
You must attend all of your timetabled sessions whilst at the University and submit all of your assessments. If you are unwell or unable to attend for any other reason, you must let the CAM Admin Office know at the earliest opportunity, as failure to attend could lead to University Services being withdrawn and again, if you do not prove satisfactory attendance, may lead to exclusion. For further information about who to contact, please refer to the Student Information Sheet 2011-12.
The Computing and Mathematics Admin Office administers the courses belonging to the following departments:
The administrative staff in the Computing and Mathematics Administration Office (commonly known as CAM Admin Office) are happy to support you and answer any non-academic enquiries. The Computing and Maths Student Information Sheet 2011-12 has been written to answer many frequently asked questions - have a look!
The Student Information Handbooks, will give you the basic information to help you on your course, such as course work submission, examination timetables and any other student guidelines.
These handbooks should answer many of your other questions,
...however, if not, have a look at the University Assessment Regulations and Handbooks or ask us in the CAM Admin Office.

Students interested in studying a foreign language:
The study of foreign languages (and English) is strongly supported by the University of Portsmouth and all students have the opportunity to study language units, either as part of their course of study (undergraduates only), or purely for interest and self-development. You will normally have to register directly with the School of Languages and Area Studies, usually by the end of the first teaching week of the semester. Information about when, where and how to register is available from their web site: School of Languages and Area Studies (SLAS).
International students:
...and students whose first language is not English, should study the unit English for Academic Purposes (EAP) during their first semester of study at the University (you can study EAP later in your course too if you wish). EAP is likely to help you get more from your assessments and better results. You should use the online booking form to enrol on the EAP unit at the beginning of the semester.
